This mystery motorcyclist baffled traffic police when he was spotted carrying an entire minivan on the back of his bike.

CCTV caught the dangerous driver hauling the vehicle on his three-wheeled motorbike in Jiangsu Province, with the one-tonne vehicle held in place with belts.

Police spokesman Wei Lei said the driver, who has not been named, was stopped by traffic police on his way through the city of Zhenjiang.

He said: 'The man said the minivan had already been decommissioned and was on its way to the scrap yard.

But officers gave the man a stern warning and called for a tow truck to carry it the rest of its journey.'

He added that while this incident was extreme, many other people also break the law less obviously and that they were cracking down on traffic offenders transporting dangerous loans.

He added: 'In this instance in particular the van was very heavy and could have caused the vehicle to tip over during turns.

'On top of that, the man had greatly exceeded the weight limit for his vehicle, which is around 150kg.'
