Mystery shopper job up for grabs in Birmingham for those with ‘covert’ skills
Fancy yourself as a bit of an enigma? Think you could pose as a regular customer and gather information without being noticed?
Well, a new opportunity has emerged that could be right for you. Agency Tern is on the look out for a mystery shopper to join its "covert service" based in Birmingham.
As a mystery shopper, you’ll be paid to engage with businesses from high-street retail stores to health clubs and help them improve their services. The closing date for applications is December 11 - and bosses say the job is “completely flexible”.

Assignments range from assessing store cleanliness and customer service to completing telephone enquiries and ordering meals. You might find yourself trying on clothes, testing mobile phone services or ensuring a store is compliant with underage alcohol sales.
The job advert says the chosen candidates’ observations will directly impact decisions made by companies. Pay varies depending on the task but there is no limit to the number of assignments you can take on.
Bosses said: “Tern is now one of the UK’s leading mystery shopping agencies. [It] has built a reputation for designing and operating programmes that deliver visible improvements for a diverse range of companies and sectors.
“Do you love to shop and wish someone could pay you to do it? If you sign up to become a mystery shopper for Tern, then we will do just that.”
The successful candidate will be hired on a self-employed basis, meaning they will be responsible for their own national insurance contributions and tax. You can see advertisement on the Government’s Find a Job website.
