N’Golo Kante injury: Huge scare for Chelsea FC ahead of Champions League Final

·1-min read

Chelsea have been handed a big injury scare with N'Golo Kante forced off against Leicester, with the Champions League Final just 10 days away.

It will be of huge concern for Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea as they look to secure a top-four finish before facing Manchester City in the European showpiece.

There didn't appear to be a clash which cause the injury, instead Kante called for the substitution just after the half-hour mark.

Tuchel said to Sky Sports after the game: "He felt something, he didn't want to risk a muscle injury, so there's hope for Sunday."

Mateo Kovacic, himself only recently back from injury after being out since April 10, replaced him.

Kante has been in outstanding form for the Blues this season, but recently suffered a hamstring injury while on international duty.

He managed 90 minutes on Saturday as Chelsea were beaten for Leicester in the FA Cup Final.

Kante was earlier on Tuesday named in France’s squad for the upcoming Euro 2020. Les Blues looking to add the trophy to their World Cup won three years ago.
