The Masked Singer fans will have to keep guessing about the identity of Queen Bee, after Nadine Coyle ruled herself out.

Some viewers had thought Coyle was the bumblebee on the ITV show, which sees celebrities singing while in disguise and judges Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Rita Ora and Ken Jeong having to work out who they are.

The singer set the record straight during an appearance on This Morning – but she didn’t rule out Queen Bee being her former Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts.

“It’s not me in The Masked Singer, it’s not,” she told hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

“We were watching it on the TV. And Anaiya (her daughter) was there as well.

“I think it was Jonathan Ross and Davina McCall, who were like ‘Nadine Coyle!’ And Anaiya was like, ‘You?’ ‘What?’”

“I’m there in my pyjamas and my robe watching the TV like, ‘This is so weird’,” added the star.

Coyle didn’t mention her old bandmate Roberts, who is another Queen Bee contender.

Viewers have said the bee’s voice and mannerisms resemble the singer’s and this week she posted a video on Instagram that fans were convinced was a clue.

It showed Roberts sitting in a chair rehearsing a song, but in the background a bright yellow coat was thrown over a black chair, giving a bee-like appearance.

So far five celebrities have been unmasked on the show.
