Named and shamed: Latest driving offenders to be sentenced at Hull Magistrates' Court

A dangerous driver, a man who failed to stop after a road accident and drink and drug drivers have been banned from the roads in recent days.

Magistrates in Hull have handed out lengthy driving bans, suspended sentences, community orders and hefty fines to driving offenders from across Hull and East Yorkshire.

Here are ten people who were sentenced at Hull Magistrates' Court last week.

Aaron Hughes, 39, of Hopewell Road, Hull pleaded guilty to failing to stop after a road accident, driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit, driving without insurance and driving without an appropriate licence. He also indicated a plea of guilty to aggravated vehicle taking and vehicle damage. He was banned from driving for 40 months and ordered to pay a £333 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs.

Brodie Burns, 18, of Queensgate, Bridlington pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving without an appropriate licence, driving without insurance, driving whilst using a handheld mobile phone and the possession of cannabis. He was banned from driving for one year, given a community order with the requirement to complete 100 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay a £114 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs.

Shaun Hall, 31, of The Mount, Driffield pleaded guilty to driving whilst under the influence of cocaine and cannabis, driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit, driving without insurance and failing to provide a preliminary impairment test when asked to do so by police. He was banned from driving for two years, fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £80 victim services surcharge.

Mark Armstrong, 39, of no fixed abode pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance and driving without an appropriate licence. He also pleaded guilty to one count of shop theft in which he stole alcohol worth £270 from Asda and one count of attempted burglary with intent to steal. He was given a one-year suspended sentence order and banned from driving for one year.

Darren Stanley, 36, of no fixed abode pleaded guilty to driving whilst under the influence of cocaine and whilst above the legal alcohol limit. He was banned from driving for three years and ordered to pay a £100 fine and £85 in costs.

Josh Allitt, 30, of Dunvegan Road, Hull pleaded guilty to driving whilst under the influence of cocaine. He was given a community order with the requirement to complete 120 hours of unpaid work, banned from driving for two years and ordered to pay a £114 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs.

Daniel Lingwood, 38, of Dodthorpe, Hull pleaded guilty to driving whilst under the influence of cannabis. He was banned from driving for one year and ordered to pay a £120 fine, £85 in costs and a £48 victim services surcharge.

Kelly Howard, 34, of Anlaby Park Road South, Hull pleaded guilty to driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit. She was banned from driving for 15 months and ordered to pay a £120 fine, £85 in costs and a £48 victim services surcharge.

Michael Hagar, 46, of Taillar Road, Hedon pleaded guilty to driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit. He was banned from driving for 13 months and ordered to pay a £120 fine, £85 in costs and a £48 victim services surcharge.

Rebecca Gill, 43, of Dempster Avenue, Goole pleaded guilty to driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit. She was banned from driving for 11 months and ordered to pay a £120 fine, £85 in costs and a £48 victim services surcharge.
