Naomi Campbell declared she's never "felt so much love" as she extended thanks to well-wishers following the arrival of her first child.

Last week she confirmed she had welcomed a baby girl, describing her as a "beautiful little blessing".

The supermodel, who also celebrated her 51st birthday last week, posted a photo to Instagram of herself standing outside surrounded by bouquets of flowers as she shared the message.

"Never have I felt so much love like I have over these past few weeks, I am so thankful for the love that you’ve poured into my daughter and I 🙏🏾Thank you all for the Warm messages of support and birthday wishes," she wrote.

"Despite the challenging year we’ve all had, there has been so many blessings that I am beyond grateful and thankful for. By Gods Grace we are almost at the light at the end of the tunnel, strength and perseverance Love, Naomi ❤️ ❤️."

Campbell hadn't previously revealed she was expecting a baby. When announcing her news to the world, she put up a photo of the tot's tiny feet being cradled in a hand.

"A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother, So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love," the mother-of-one wrote.

She also gave further insight into her daughter's arrival this week in her No Filter With Naomi interview series on YouTube.

The comment came during a conversation with American DJ and producer D-Nice as she spoke on the importance of African music and heritage.

She said: “Music is like… In my most special moments, you know I just became a mum, I had Bob Marley playing. That’s my roots, you know? It’s my roots.”
