Naomie Harris reveals she was groped by famous actor during audition

Naomie Harris has revealed that she was once groped by a famous actor during an audition – and the director said nothing.

The Skyfall actress, 43, said the incident took place when she was in her 20s.

She told The Guardian that it happened in front of the director and the casting director but that nobody did anything because the person who groped her was such a star.

“I was in an audition and he put his hand up my skirt,” said the actress.

“What was so shocking about it was the casting director was there and the director, and of course no one said anything at all because he was – he is – such a huge star.”

Harris had previously said in an interview that she did not experience sexism or racism in the industry.

The star went to Cambridge University where she studied social and political sciences and said in a way her education may have protected her in the acting industry because “there is the immediate assumption that you have a brain”.

Harris has been appearing in films for close to 20 years, with projects such as Miami Vice and Ninja Assassin to her name, and she earned her first Oscar nomination in 2016 for her searing performance as a drug-addicted mother in the Best Picture-winning Moonlight.

To many she’ll probably best known for playing Miss Moneypenny in the recent James Bond films.

She is set to reprise her role in the new 007 film No Time To Die.

She recently told GQ Hype the movie has “massive, massive surprises that even had me like, ‘Oh, wow!’”

“So I think we’re going to really shock people,” she added.

No Time To Die, which sees Daniel Craig return as the suave spy, is due to be released in the UK in April 2020.
