The release date of the next season of Narcos has seemingly been revealed by one of its cast members.

It’s been known since last December that Narcos: Mexico, which stars Diego Luna and Michael Peña, would be returning for a second season, but it’s been unknown when exactly the premiere would be.

As noticed by Lad Bible, though, José Maria Yazpik – who plays Amado Carrillo Fuentes in the cartel drama – seems to have accidentally announced the return date, beating Netflix to the punch.

He was asked on Instagram when the release date was, and replied: “Febrero.”

“Febero” is Spanish for February.

Netflix has declined to comment on the show’s return date, but this isn’t the first time an actor or producer have revealed when the show will return ahead of the streaming service’s official announcement.

Earlier this year, Tobias Menzies – who succeeds Matt Smith as Prince Philip in the new season of The Crownaccidentally revealed when the show would be returning (17 November) as did Charlize Theron for Mindhunter season 2, which came out back in August.

Narcos: Mexico followed on from the original three seasons, which took place in Colombia. The first two seasons focused on drug kingpin Pablo Escobar.

The new version of the series charts the rise of the Guadalajara Cartel in the 1980s.
