Crystal Palace are ready to make a late move to sign West Brom full-back Nathan Ferguson.

Roy Hodgson is desperate to bring in cover at right-back, having failed to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka following his exit to Manchester United last summer.

The Eagles have again moved for Tottenham’s Kyle Walker-Peters, but face competition from Southampton. With that in mind, Palace have turned their attentions to Ferguson.
The 19-year-old has impressed this season for Slaven Bilic’s Championship leaders.

Ferguson’s contract is up in the summer and he is stalling on a new deal, meaning the Baggies could look to cash in on their rising star this month before losing him for a nominal fee in compensation over the summer.

Ferguson is already free to discuss pre-contracts with foreign clubs.

A move for Ferguson fits the bill in terms of Palace’s plans; they are in desperate need of competition for Joel Ward and keen to bring down the age of their squad.
