Natasha Gordon’s acclaimed debut play Nine Night will transfer to the West End.

The production, directed by Roy Alexander Weise, sold out for its run at the Dorfman after garnering rave reviews at the National Theatre.

It will be performed at Trafalgar Studios from December 1, with casting yet to be announced.

The National Theatre also announced a number of productions for its new season, including a new play from Nina Raine and Anthony Neilson ’s debut at the theatre, which will be based on an Edgar Allen Poe short story.

War Horse, one of the most successful productions in the theatre’s history, will return to the venue to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War.

The stage adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s novel first premiered there eleven years ago, and went on to be performed in eleven countries to over seven million people.

The show ran in the West End for seven years from 2009 to 2016 and was made into a film, directed by Steven Spielberg, in 2011.

It was also announced that Alexander Hanson and Joanna Riding will join the cast of Follies when it returns to the Olivier stage next year. They will play the roles of Ben and Sally, which were played by Imelda Staunton and Philip Quast.

Sian Brooke, Alex Hassell and Joshua McGuire will star in I’m Not Running, David Hare ’s new play about Labour Party politics.

Legendary director Peter Brook will return to the National for the first time in 50 years to direct The Prisoner, alongside collaborator Marie-Hélène Estienne.

Also announced was a series of rehearsed readings, talks and screenings to mark the centenary of (some) women getting the vote. Courage Everywhere will include a reading of Rebecca Lenkiewicz’s Her Naked Skin, directed by Nadia Fall. It was the first new play by a woman to be staged on the National’s Olivier stage.
