Nationwide £100 cash payment to hit accounts this month - who is eligible and how to claim

A one-off £100 payment is set to be given to millions of Nationwide account holders by the end of this month. This is through its unique "Fairer Share Payment" scheme.

However, it is not available to all customers, reports the DailyExpressonline. To be eligible, people must have had an active current account on March 31, 2024, and held either a qualifying savings or mortgage product during March of that year.

Last year, it gave out a total of £340 million to 3.4 million customers through its scheme. This year, around four million account holders are set to benefit.

To be able to qualify for the £100 payment, customers must have had a current account open on March 31, 2024, and still hold one in June. Those with qualifying savings must have had at least £100 in total in one or more personal savings accounts or cash ISAs with Nationwide at the end of any day in March 2024

Earlier this year, Nationwide has outlined specific criteria for customers who used their current account. The exact requirements do vary depending on the type of current account held, and people are being urged to find the full details on the Nationwide website.
