NatWest will be closing a branch in Lincolnshire as more of its customers turn to online banking. The bank has confirmed it will be closing 53 locations across the nation this year.

This includes the NatWest branch in Market Place, Louth, which will close its doors for good on May 28, 2025. When this branch closes the nearest NatWest branches will be in Grimsby, Skegness and the High Street in Lincoln.

These closures come as more customers "than ever before" are choosing digital banking over traditional branches. A NatWest spokesperson said: "Our customers are using digital banking more than ever before – over 80 percent of our active current account holders now use our digital services and over 97 percent of retail accounts with us are now opened online.

"Like any business, we strive to meet our customers' changing needs and expectations and we’ve been responding to the industry wide shift towards digital services by investing to broaden what customers can do themselves and to offer them greater personalisation."

In addition to this closure, Louth will also be loosing its Lloyds branch. This comes as the Lloyds Banking Group confirms it will be closing the Lloyds branches in Sleaford, Louth and Brigg as we;; as the Halifax locations in Gainsborough, Sleaford and Skegness.
