Now they’re getting expensive.
A series that saw multiple ejections before the Clippers advanced in Game 6 resulted in a pair of fines levied by the NBA on Wednesday.
The league fined Clippers forward Marcus Morris $35,000 for a swipe at Luka Doncic in Game 6. Morris struck Doncic over his right shoulder when the Mavericks star drove to the basket in the first quarter, connecting with his face and sending him to the floor.

The incident drew a flagrant 2 foul and an automatic ejection for Morris.
NBA: Morris fined for ‘recklessly striking’ Doncic
The league announced that it fined Morris for “recklessly striking” Doncic above the shoulders and noted that prior acts were considered in administering the penalty.
“The amount of the fine was based in part on the fact that Morris, Sr. has been disciplined on several prior occasions for physical altercations on the court,” the league statement read.
Morris has a reputation as an enforcer on the court and raised eyebrows when he stepped on Doncic’s injured left ankle earlier in the series.
Doncic fined too
Doncic didn’t escape an NBA fine on Wednesday. The league docked him $15,000 for throwing the ball at a referee’s feet during Game 6.
Doncic got whistled for an offensive foul in the third quarter and immediately threw the ball at the feet of the official standing on the baseline. That incident drew a technical foul.

The series and the Mavericks’ season are over, but the tension from this matchup is likely to linger.
With a short turnaround between this season and next, it won’t be long before these two Western Conference rivals square off again.
