NBA visits Mexico City for third straight year, furthering an attempt to grow globally

The NBA has played 26 games in Mexico since 1992. This year, on Dec. 13 and Dec. 15, the league will play two more.

Orlando will compete in both games at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City. The first is a matchup between the Magic and the Chicago Bulls, and the second game is a matchup between the Magic and the Utah Jazz.

“We are honored that the NBA invited the Chicago Bulls to be a part of sharing a game we love with a global audience,” said Chicago Bulls president Michael Reinsdorf.

The League has played games in England and Japan and Brazil. Not to mention, China has also been a major destination.

By the end of the 2020 season, the NBA is hoping to have played 32 games in Mexico, proving the league’s continued attempt to grow the game globally.
