Nearly 20,000 Yorkshire homes face council inspections
All council houses in Rotherham are set to undergo inspections to evaluate their condition, following the green light for a £1.3m programme.
The ambitious plan will see nearly 20,000 homes inspected over the next three years, ensuring that all council properties meet the required standards.
These surveys play a pivotal role in maintaining an up-to-date record of the state of Rotherham's council homes. The data collected will aid the council in planning future housing investments and managing resources more efficiently.

This move was prompted by the realisation that the council's existing in-house surveying team would not be able to carry out the necessary surveys promptly. A review indicated that given the team's current workload, it would take a staggering 15 years to complete the task.
You can find out about looking for a council house on the Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council's website.
