Nedim Bajrami seals Rangers transfer as midfielder names key reasons behind last gasp deadline day move

Nedim Bajrami has sealed a move to Rangers from Sassuolo as the club completed their second deadline day signing.

The Albanian international leaves the Serie B side following their relegation to the Italian second tier with a permanent deal in the region of £3.4m bringing the £25-year-old midfielder to the Scottish Premiership on an long term contract. He follows Neraysho Kasanwirjo after Philippe Clement brought in the Dutch defender on loan from Feyenoord with an option to buy.

With the likes of Todd Cantwell and Scott Wright moving on, Bajrami will offer an alternative for the boss in the midfield engine room. Speaking to the club website, the new recruit said: “I am delighted to be joining a club the size of Rangers. They are a club which is known throughout the world, who have won a lot of trophies and competed in a European final in recent years. I have had some good conversations with the manager and I believe Rangers is the right move for me at this point in my career. I look forward to meeting all of my new team-mates and fans in the near future.”
