Even the worst news goes down better with pancakes, but we don't think pancakes are going to win Sasha around to Negan's nefarious plans on The Walking Dead anytime soon.

Ahead of tonight's season 7 finale, AMC has released another sneak peak at 'The First Day of the Rest of Your Life' (via EW), which shows Negan making another play for Sasha's allegiance.

The episode is heavily rumoured to be Sasha's swan song, following the news that actress Sonequa Martin will lead Bryan Fuller's Star Trek: Discovery TV series.

However, as the clip dictates, Negan doesn't plan on Sasha going anywhere: so much so that he even brings along pancakes to sweeten the deal.

The minute-and-a-half clip starts with Sasha waking up to find Negan entering her cell.

After some smooth talk and just a pinch of flattery, Negan reveals what fans had hoped: a couple of people WILL die in the season finale - but he doesn't want Sasha to be one of them.

During the clip, we also find out how the episode gets its name, which once again comes courtesy of the Big Bad himself.

"Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life, Sasha," says Negan at the start of the clip.

"You are going to help make sure things get back on track today. You are smart, hot as hell, dignified as shit and you don't suffer one goddam fool.

"No one's going to watch you die. I don't want to see that, so you don't have to - but someone does.

"Maybe a couple others, tops, but not you and not most people. We are going to help solve some shit."

Negan then lifts the lid on his mysterious klosh to reveal his ultimate pancake bargaining chip, telling Sasha: "Tuck in. Big Day."

"What do you need from me?" Sasha replies, before the clip ends.

Guess we'll find out later.

The Walking Dead airs tonight (April 2) on AMC in the US and Monday (April 3) on FOX in the UK.
