Neighbours will air on Christmas Day for the first time in four years, Inside Soap has revealed alongside details of the upcoming Christmas storylines.
The Australian soap previously aired on Christmas Day in 2018 and again in 2019 as part of Channel 5's "all-year-round" deal with the soap. In 2020 and 2021, Channel 5 opted not to show the soap during the holidays.
The show's absence from the 2022 holiday schedule happened when the soap was axed after 37 years on air, with the final episode airing in July 2022.
Thankfully, the soap was given a lifeline when Amazon Freevee picked it up for a revival series. Freevee currently releases four episodes per week between Mondays and Thursdays, and there are currently no scheduled breaks in this format.
According to Inside Soap, not everyone in the upcoming Christmas Day episode will feel the Yuletide joy.
Chloe continues hiding a big secret — but her girlfriend Elly arrives on Ramsay Street before Chloe can come clean.
Elsewhere, things get messy for Haz after he assumes that Mackenzie has a new love interest, and his girlfriend Holly becomes suspicious.
Finally, to end the Christmas episode, Jane and Terese will attempt to put their differences aside, and Krista will receive an unexpected Christmas present.

Speaking recently about her return story, Chloe Brennan actress April Rose Pengilly teased that Chloe might be hiding things.
"Chloe is back in Erinsborough to help out at the hotel. Paul's got himself in a bit of hot water, and Chloe's here to save the day, of course," April said in an Instagram video. "But Chloe may be harbouring a little tiny secret."
Neighbours releases new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays for free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. In Australia, the show airs from Mondays to Thursdays at 4pm on Channel 10, with a 6.30pm repeat screening on 10 Peach.
