Neighbours to air new drugs storyline for Shane Rebecchi

Neighbours spoilers follow for UK and Australian viewers.

Nicholas Coghlan's Shane Rebecchi is set for a stressful time in Neighbours, as the drug problem around Erinsborough High School comes crashing down around him.

Revealed in Australian magazine TV Soap, upcoming scenes will feature Shane in a state of panic after recently buying pills to keep him alert during his studies – his daughter Yashvi becomes a big part of the school's investigation into the drug stash.

Concerned that his wife Dipi might learn about this ongoing drug problem, he desperately attempts to hide it, but she comes dangerously close to catching him out.

Although she doesn't manage to discover his secret pills, Shane's brief relief is turned into further paranoia when Roxy Willis comes across a blue bag containing drugs at The Waterhole – having taken some of Shane's hours while his comedown stretches out.

Roxy is compelled to call the police, yet she's stopped by Shane at the last minute as he confesses to owning the drugs.

Appalled by Shane's behaviour, Roxy goes on to give him an ultimatum: give up the pills or she's telling Dipi.

Choosing his marriage over getting high, Shane locks himself in a room at Lassiters where he forces himself to go cold turkey.

With a wave of horrendous withdrawals to battle, can he come out the other end a healthier person?

Neighbours airs on Channel 5 in the UK and 10 Peach in Australia.
