Neighbours' Chloe Brennan shares doubts after engagement news

Neighbours spoilers follow for UK and Australian viewers.

Neighbours' Chloe Brennan has second thoughts on Australian screens next week, after she accepts Nicolette Stone's marriage proposal.

10 Peach viewers have seen Chloe (April Rose Pengilly) increasingly having doubts over her relationship with Nicolette (Charlotte Chimes), not helped by Leo Tanaka (Tim Kano) – who has been driving a wedge between the couple.

In upcoming scenes via TV Week magazine, Nicolette still doesn't suspect anything is wrong between her and Chloe.

Nicolette is so happy and in love that she asks Chloe to marry her, and is over the moon when her girlfriend says yes. But it's not long before Chloe begins to be overwhelmed by how quickly the relationship is going.

Chloe is further agitated when Nicolette's mother Jane Harris (Annie Jones) throws a surprise engagement party.

Chloe ends up running outside to get space from everyone including her friends and family. She then texts Leo.

"Chloe feels she can confide in Leo because they're old friends and he truly understands her," star April Rose Pengilly shares with TV Week. "She isn't interested in him romantically, but feels safe and comfortable with him."

But Leo is interested in her romantically. Although Hendrix Greyson's (Benny Turland) warnings were previously ignored, some of the other Ramsay Street residents may finally pick up on it.

Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson) and David Tanaka (Takaya Honda) spot Leo giving Chloe a hug, and begin to wonder if there's anything happening between the pair.

David and Aaron have an additional concern as Nicolette is carrying their baby, and are concerned that any problems between Nicolette and Chloe could complicate the situation. Will they tell Nicolette about what they saw?

These scenes air in the UK in five weeks' time.

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and weekdays at 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
