Neighbours' Colette Mann calls for Sheila to give up on Clive

From Digital Spy

Neighbours spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Neighbours actress Colette Mann has revealed that she thinks her character Sheila Canning needs to move on from Clive Gibbons.

Sheila and Clive (Geoff Paine)'s relationship ended when Clive found out that Sheila had tampered with her grandson Levi Canning (Richie Morris)'s medical review behind Clive's back and she has been desperate to win him back ever since.

But in scenes to air in the UK next week, Sheila will make the devastating discovery that Clive has moved on with Jane Harris (Annie Jones) after she bumps into them sharing an intimate moment at the Flame Tree Retreat.

Distraught Sheila makes it clear that she isn't happy about Clive and Jane's romance, leading them to question whether they should really be together.

But Mann reckons that Sheila is better off without Clive, telling Inside Soap that she thinks her character needs to "pull herself together" and celebrate her independence.

"If I was one of her friends I'd say, 'Drop him like a hot scone, and just move on, girl!'" she said. "But you're talking to a woman who's been divorced and on her own for 14 years, and has never been happier! Why Sheila keeps flouncing around, trying to get this bloke back, I don't know. She needs to pull herself together."

Unfortunately for the actress, it seems that Sheila is determined to get Clive back despite the fact that she feels "incredibly betrayed" by both Clive and Jane.

"She tries to win him back," Mann said. "She's egged on by Roxy (Willis, played by Zima Anderson), who wants her to get back with Clive. So she hears what she wants to hear, as we all do if in a situation like that."

Speaking of Roxy, Mann also teased that there is a "great story" coming up for Sheila and Roxy as she revealed that she gets on "really well" with actress Zima Anderson.

Is there a new Erinsborough double act on the way?

Neighbours airs weekdays on Channel 5 in the UK and on 10 Peach in Australia.
