Neighbours spoilers for UK viewers follow.
Neighbours' Sheila Canning and Clive Gibbons are currently separated, although she really wants to get back together with him. Sadly for her, he's currently dating Jane Harris.
With some assistance from Des Clarke, Sheila will put in place a plan to break the two up next week. While the scenes were intended to be portrayed in a humorous way, Sheila actress Colette Mann explains that she and Geoff Paine (Clive) decided to play things differently to what the writers initially planned.
“Originally the writers and producers saw it as being a funny storyline," she told What's on TV.
"As a woman who's been through it herself twice in life, I said I don't think it's a funny situation. Believing that you're in love with someone when they're in love with someone else.
"The producers were fantastic and we didn't change the storyline but we changed the way we played it."
Rather than trying to continue to pursue something, Sheila will eventually come to accept that Clive has moved on with his life and elects to do the same. The show's ever-evolving opening titles will actually be updated to reflect this.
That doesn't mean that Sheila won't have things to do on the soap, however, with Colette teasing that: "Sheila is very busy with other things in her family and I love working with the young people, which I'm doing a lot of at the moment."
Neighbours airs these scenes on Monday, February 8 and Friday, February 12 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
