Neighbours confirms new love triangle as Rose Walker returns

Neighbours spoilers follow for UK and Australian viewers.

Neighbours is bringing back Rose Walker on Australian screens next week as part of a new love triangle.

Rose (Lucy Durack) was last seen towards the end of 2020. She was a love interest for Toadie Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney) but exited when she got back together with her husband.

Her return in upcoming scenes looks set to complicate things between Toadie and his girlfriend Melanie Pearson (Lucinda Cowden), who have had their own problems recently.

Via TV Week, Erinsborough is hosting a Shorts and Briefs film festival, which gives Rose – whose marriage with her husband is definitely over now – an opportunity to check in on Toadie.

But she's disappointed to find out that Toadie is in a relationship.

"Rose comes back into town under the guise of being the PR manager for the film festival, but she's mostly there to see Toadie, who she's very fond of," star Lucy Durack told the publication.

"In any other circumstance, I think Rose would like Melanie.

"But in this instance, she sees her as a roadblock in the way of her romantic future with Toadie."

Rose inserts herself into Toadie's life once more, which leaves Melanie feeling sidelined and causes tension between Rose and Melanie.

Later, Rose discovers her car has been vandalised and jumps to the conclusion that Melanie must have been the person responsible.

Melanie has a history of lashing out – from dumping manure on Angela Lane's doorstep to an incident with Justin and Anna Buke that resulted in a restraining order against her – so is she involved here too? And how will Toadie react?

These scenes air in the UK in September.

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
