The Logie Award nominations have been revealed – and it's good news for Neighbours, but particularly so for actress Eve Morey.

Earlier this year, Eve's fan-favourite character Sonya Rebecchi left the Australian soap after 10 years in a heartbreaking cancer storyline, and the actress has now earned nods for Most Popular Actress and the Gold Logie.

The latter is a really prestigious award Down Under, presented to the Most Popular Personality on all of Australian TV, so it's very cool to see a soap actress get nominated – and you can watch the moment Eve finds out she's been nominated below too:

"It's very strange," she said after initially bursting into nervous laughter. "It's very, very strange. But thank you! Thank you, again.

"I just cannot have even fathomed that the work would be acknowledged in this way."

Neighbours has been nominated a further four times for the awards, with Ryan Moloney being up for Most Popular Actor, Bonnie Anderson up for Graham Kennedy Award for Best New Talent, and the soap itself being up for Most Outstanding Drama Series and Most Popular Drama Program.

Meanwhile, Home and Away has also received nominations in this year's Logie Awards, with Courtney Miller being nominated for New Talent, Ray Meagher for Most Popular Actor and the soap itself for Most Popular Drama.

Regardless of whether Eve wins the Gold Logie or not, the actress has already won the best prize of all: the Digital Spy Badge of Honour. We're not saying that we invented the prize specifically for her, but we're not saying we didn't either...

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
