A sleepy morning in Erinsborough takes a shocking turn when there's a horror accident at the Backpackers in Neighbours next week.

Two lives will be in jeopardy when Amy Williams's truck goes ploughing into Leo Tanaka's business, leaving carnage in its wake.

When the incident happens, many of Ramsay Street's residents are still in high spirits after competing in (and eating at!) the "Bonza Barbie Bash" at Lassiters the previous day.

David Tanaka (Takaya Honda) has also had an interesting 24 hours, falling asleep on the sofa at the Backpackers after being chatted up by a new guy who's staying there as a guest.

Just when David and Piper Willis (Mavournee Hazel) are preparing for the day ahead after waking up at the Backpackers, there's a terrifying turn of events as Amy's vehicle suddenly reverses into the building.

Poor Piper ends up being unable to move when her legs get trapped beneath debris in the accident.

David is left in an even worse condition when a set of shelves comes flying down onto him and knocks him unconscious, causing a potential head injury that could prove serious.

Neighbours fans won't see who's behind the wheel when the accident happens, and nobody seems to be in a hurry to accept blame in the aftermath, meaning that the storyline plays out as a "whodunit" with several characters in the frame.

Amy is naturally the prime suspect as it's her truck and she was seen in a bad state just moments before the accident, lashing out at her half-brother Leo after seeing him with a potential new love interest.

But with plenty of other characters acting suspiciously too, could there be another culprit who's actually to blame?

Neighbours airs these scenes on Bank Holiday Monday, May 1 at 12.40pm and 6pm on Channel 5.
