Neighbours' Levi Canning faces a big dilemma as his mum arrives

Neighbours spoilers follow for Australian and UK viewers.

Neighbours' Levi Canning will be put in a difficult position next week as his mum Evelyn Farlow unexpectedly shows up in Ramsay Street.

Digital Spy revealed last week that actress and singer Paula Arundell has taken on the role of Evelyn, with her first scenes due to air next week in Australia as she turns up to see her son for a two-week stint.

Levi (Richie Morris) has recently been having a lot of fun in his open relationship with Amy Greenwood (Jacinta Stapleton), with he and Amy enjoying a polyamorous romance with Ned Willis (Ben Hall) after strong feelings developed between her and both men following a period of casual dating.

However, when Evelyn arrives in Erinsborough Levi feels as if he should put his romantic situation on the back burner, TV Week reports.

With Levi and Ned having been rather competitive when it comes to impressing Amy in the past, Levi is worried that Ned might take the opportunity to swoop in and edge him out of the three-way arrangement if he takes a step back.

Will Levi be honest with his mum about his romantic situation in order to keep things on track, and if so how will she feel?

With Levi's grandmother Sheila Canning (Colette Mann) having made her own disapproval of Levi's romantic situation clear, could Levi face a similar issue with his mum?

Actress Jacinta, who plays Amy, has previously spoken about how proud she is to be involved in the polyamory story, saying that she feels it is important to "always try to reflect real intimate relationships in our society".

"Polyamory certainly is a part of that," she said. "The more we represent the beautifully diverse nature and uniqueness of humans, the more people will feel accepted and seen."

These scenes air next week in Australia and in nearly five weeks' time in the UK. Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
