Neighbours welcomes back Melanie Pearson on UK screens next week.

Lucinda Cowden reprises the role of Melanie for the first time since 2005, and the character's return comes as Sheila Canning plots her latest move to win back Clive Gibbons.

In upcoming scenes, Sheila (Colette Mann) forces Des Clarke (Paul Keane) to stay in Erinsborough following her heart attack.

Clive (Geoff Paine) and Jane Harris (Annie Jones) have paused their new relationship for the sake of Sheila's health, and with Clive regularly checking in on her, Sheila sees an opportunity to get closer to him.

To help with her mission, a hugely determined Sheila makes Des spend more time with Jane. Des reluctantly goes along with her plan.

A few days later, Sheila asks a similar favour from Des so that she can spend time with Clive alone. This time, she sets up a meeting for Des and Jane with none other than Melanie.

Melanie is excited to catch up with Jane and Des, but doesn't filter herself when it comes to her thoughts on Jane and Clive's new relationship.

At the Canning house, Sheila invites Clive over under the pretense of talking about her pacemaker. As the pair chat, Sheila learns that Kyle (Chris Milligan) is struggling at the Tram, and she begins to rush off to provide help.

As she prepares to leave, Clive suggests going with Sheila to keep an eye on her. Sheila sees this as an indication that he wants a romantic reunion as much as she does.

But is that how he truly feels, or is Sheila going to get heartbroken again?

Neighbours airs these scenes on Monday, February 1 and Friday, February 5 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
