Local tourist Rafael has been described as a loner with dark secrets and will be heading to Ramsay Street with a score to settle with one of the locals.

However, as his story starts to unravel, could Rafael's revenge falter as he becomes romantically entwined with another resident?

A blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment in a recent Neighbours trailer previewed Rafael looking very distressed, suggesting there is high drama to come after his arrival in the late-night episode.

The action-packed special – titled 'Hit and Run' – has been directed by former Neighbours cast member Scott Major (Lucas Fitzgerald) and will see am array of familiar faces make a return, including Stu Parker and Lance Wilkinson.

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
