Neighbours' Toadie Rebecchi and Melanie Pearson end up in a surprising secret romance on Australian screens next week.
Melanie (Lucinda Cowden) is currently working as Toadie's (Ryan Moloney) assistant. The pair shared a date before Melanie was hired, but decided at the time not to pursue a relationship.
An awkward Valentine's Day mix-up only confirmed their intent to stay colleagues and friends... until now.

In upcoming scenes on 10 Peach (via TV Week magazine), Mackenzie Hargreaves (Georgie Stone) notices tension between Toadie and Melanie, although she thinks it's because Toadie is being too hard on Melanie.
In reality, it's because of Toadie and Melanie's attraction to each other, and they start a romance which they vow to keep a secret from Mackenzie and everybody else.
"They have something they can't deny any longer," Ryan tells TV Week. "Because their affair begins in the workplace, Toadie and Melanie choose to keep it their little secret.
"Plus, the thrill of sneaking around is part of the fun!"

Toadie and Melanie almost end up getting caught by Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou), leading them to be more careful. But when will the secret come out?
The last time a new couple tried to keep their romance a secret was Chloe Brennan and Nicolette Stone. Their attempt lasted barely a day before they were caught.
Toadie and Melanie's secret romance begins airing in five weeks' time in the UK.

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
