Neighbours star Bonnie Anderson has revealed she was targeted by a thief in a New Year break-in.

The actress, who plays Bea Nilsson on the Australian soap, took to social media to appeal for help to get her motorbike back after it was stolen from her home.

In a series of videos posted to Instagram, Bonnie shared that she and her housemate had various items taken in the burglary which took place over the new year.

"They've actually broken into my house, they've smashed everything down, moved drawers," she said.

"They've gone into my room, the bike's gone, my housemate's laptop's gone, Xbox... like there's stuff everywhere in my room. It's actually really scary."

Bonnie later revealed that she had been able to recover her motorbike thanks to her Instagram post, though it has been damaged in a car accident and her housemate still has items missing.

"I can't believe it," she added. "I found my bike. The power of social media. I'm so freaking grateful.
