Neighbours star Candice Leask breaks silence on Wendy Rodwell return
Neighbours star Candice Leask has broken her silence about her return as Wendy Rodwell in the upcoming reboot.
The actress debuted as the character in 2021, and it was officially confirmed earlier today (May 1) that Candice would be reprising her role on Amazon Freevee’s revival, which is due to air later this year.
The news was confirmed via the official social media channels for the Australian soap, with a post on Instagram showcasing a photo of Candice as Wendy: "And Wendy makes three," read the caption.

"We're delighted that Candice Leask will be returning with the rest of the Rodwell clan in all new episodes of #Neighbours. We look forward to Wendy saying 'Yoo-hoo' again later in the year."
Candice responded to the post, expressing her enthusiasm at being able to return to Ramsay Street, commenting: "well YOO-HOOOOO indeed!!! I AM soooo thrilled to be joining the amazing and immensely hardworking show – that is Neighbours!!!!
"And SO happy that the fans are getting their Neighbours back... ( I wonder what events the street will bring this year... any guesses???)," she added.
The news won’t come as a surprise to ardent followers of the soap, with Candice being pictured on-set alongside on-screen family members Emerald Chan and Lloyd Will last month.

Both Emerald and Lloyd were subsequently announced to be reprising their roles as Sadie and Andrew respectively, with the pair joining the ever-increasing roster of returning stars.
One new cast member will be Mischa Barton, with The OC star joining the soap as Reece: "I’m excited to be part of this iconic show’s next chapter, and I am really looking forward to being back in Australia, a place I know and love," she said upon her announcement. "I think the character of Reece is going to be a great role for me to explore and play with."
Neighbours returns in the second half of 2023 with new episodes streaming free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. Network 10 will retain first-run rights in Australia for the new series.
