Mackenzie called time on her relationship with Richie last year, after discovering that he'd been spreading lies about her around school, and had even ranked her performance in bed on an app called 'The Ladder'.
Mackenzie has since moved on from Richie, recently growing closer to Hendrix Greyson, but Georgie still holds a candle for her character's old flame.
Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, she said: "Oh my God, yeah [I was sad]! I'm not kidding – I cried when I found out!
"We'd been filming this relationship for a year and we loved [spin-off show] Erinsborough High as well. That's probably one of my proudest moments, being in that show. So, I was actually devastated when I found out they were breaking up."
Opening up about her on- and off-screen relationship with Lachlan Miller, Georgie admitted that she wanted him to "stick around forever".
"The relationship was so beautiful and I love Lachie to death, I consider him a really good friend," she told us. "He's so wonderful to work with and I didn't want him not to be at work. I just wanted him to stick around forever!
"I get messages at least once a week from someone asking if Richie will come back. Let's hope he does. I'd love for him to come back, because I loved that relationship so much and Richie as a character. I could talk all day about how much I loved that relationship!"
Although disappointed that Mackenzie and Richie are no more, Georgie went on to add that she understands why Mackenzie ultimately let her ex go.
"It was coming from a place of love, but what [Richie] did was sexual harassment and it was serious. It was a full breach of trust," she explained.
"He broke her trust and it was quite painful for her. I think as devastating as it is, and as much as I would love their relationship to continue, I completely understand where Mackenzie is coming from in not wanting to stay in that relationship with him."
Still, Georgie's happy with how things ended – mainly because she predicts big things for former co-star Lachlan's future.
"I wanted him to join the main cast and I talked to them about bringing him on full-time, but Lachie's going to go on and do bigger and better things so I'm very happy for him.
"We'll certainly see him again, if not on Neighbours, then on some wonderful Hollywood movie!"
Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
