Nelly Furtado appears to have revealed that she's split from her husband of nine years.
The singer stopped by Loose Women yesterday (April 12) to promote her new album, and spoke about her struggles throughout her career.
However, while explaining her process of writing new material, she seemingly said – in an off-the-cuff comment – that she is now no longer with husband Demacio Castellon.
"I was going through a breakup and I would sing to myself while I drove on these long drives, and I thought to myself, 'I'm so lucky that I can write songs because I can soothe myself with them'," Nelly explained.
Digital Spy has reached out to the singer's representatives for further comment.
Nelly and sound engineer Demacio married back in 2008 in a private ceremony, having collaborated numerous times – they first met while working on hit album Loose back in 2006.
In the same interview, the 'I'm Like A Bird' singer spoke about the stresses of being a big pop star, revealing that although at the height of her career "it was super exciting", there were many lows.
She said that she "took too much on", adding: "A mother on the road trying to maintain a relationship... I cried on stage".
