Nepo babies at NYFW — Sienna Miller’s daughter Marlowe leads the pack

In the home of the nepo baby, celebrity offspring are ruling this New York Fashion Week.

Use of the term, which refers to the children of rich, famous and well connected, has been rife since New York magazine dedicated their December 2022 issue to the topic. Eyes are more in tune than ever to spot one in the wild — all the better if they are relatively unknown.

Imagine the commotion then when Sienna Miller’s 10-year-old daughter Marlowe Sturridge took her front row seat at the Proenza Schouler show between the doyenne of the fashion industry, Anna Wintour, and her mother.

Marlowe, who’s actor father Tom Sturridge is currently in the same city with now-girlfriend Alexa Chung, looked nonplussed as she chatted to the US Vogue’s editor-in-chief since 1988. They both rocked rectangular frame shades — Miller’s tortoise shell and Marlowe’s black-out — as they clutched their Dior Saddle bags.

Miller’s mini-me tried her arm at a corporate chic look with a grey blazer and three quarter length slacks, while the actress opted for a knitted polo shirt, black mini and statement and chunky heels. As introductions into the fashion biz go, Marlowe gets an A*.

These two are far from the only nepos in town. On the Son Jung Wan front row on Saturday, a relatively unknown list of attendees were electrified by one Brooke Shields who came with her 16-year-old daughter Grier Henchy in tow.

The resemblance between them is uncanny, thanks to their matching, flowing auburn hair and well chilled jaw lines. Shields opted for a white tweed suit with faux fur sleeve detailing, whilst her daughter had a little more fun in a plunging pink jumpsuit and fuchsia velvet heels.

It was the day before, at Jonathan Simkhai’s show, that an altogether more garish display turned heads though. Two of Hunter Biden’s five children, Naomi and Finnegan, took their seats by Huma Abedin, who was a longtime aide of Hillary Clinton’s, and the new girlfriend of Bradley Cooper.

The granddaughters of the President of the United States were every inch the party girls in matching metallic gold dresses — Naomi’s full length with spaghetti straps, and Finnegan’s a half-sleeved mini.

New York Fashion Week continues until the February 15.
