Nervous Emmerdale stars open up about filming 'scary' scenes with viewers set to see potentially fatal barn fire
Nervous Emmerdale stars have opened up about the ‘scary’ stunts involved in the ITV soap’s major barn fire storyline.
Moira star Natalie J Robb and Beth Cordingly, who plays Ruby, both appeared at a virital press conference to discuss the upcoming scenes which will soon air. The barn fire is expected to leave the lives of both their characters at risk. It follows a confrontation between Moria and Ruby which Emmerdale viewers will soon see play out.
The pair were involved with a team of specialists while filming the explosive scenes. Stunts doubles, for the acting stars, were used in the squad of experts with the scenes taking a week to film.

Natalie explained: “They were very brave. There’s a moment where something happens and the first is all around them. I don’t know how they did that really. It goes to show why that’s their job and our job is ours. It was a quite scary moment.
“They are fantastic. They are very professional. Everything was basically in one take when they did it.”
Both the Emmerdale stars have been full of praise for the experts who help them. Beth said: “I’ve done lots of stunts before but I’ve never done anything with fire. I was a bit nervous about it to be honest. There were firemen, stunt people, everyone doing the fire stuff, were all so experienced and in control.

“Everyone kept checking ‘are you okay?’ and ‘do you feel safe?’. At one point, when something was happening, a big pillar, which was one fire, had to fall really close to me, and, I was obviously looking a bit worried, as the next time I looked up, there were two stuntmen.
“One by my feet and one by my shoulder saying ‘we will throw ourselves between you and the pillar, if it gets too close to you’ as they'd obviously seen me looking slightly nervous.”
We'll get to see how explosive scenes play out very soon.
