If you love coffee, then you probably know what a great cup a Nespresso machine brews up. Even people on a budget will pay the premium for Nespresso coffee pods because of their high quality. While they cost more than some other brands, the pods still brew a cup of joe that's less expensive than buying one daily at a coffee shop.

Until now, Nespresso’s singular focus has been on coffee and the tools to make it, but its latest product line has almost nothing to do with coffee—almost.

Nespresso Launches New Honey Products

Coffee plants produce flowers, and honeybees take nectar from those flowers. Nespresso’s newest line is Nespresso Bloom, a range of honey products that are harvested from the same plants that some of the brand’s coffee comes from. That honey can be used to sweeten coffee and other beverages, such as lemonade or a hot toddy.

The creation of Nespresso Bloom is part of the company’s commitment to regenerative agriculture practices, meaning they are committed to leaving the coffee farms they source their beans from in a condition that allows them to produce coffee for years to come while sustaining the biodiversity of the farms.

"Supporting responsible practices in coffee farming has always been part of Nespresso’s DNA, and this pilot is a result of how sustainability is fueling our innovation strategy,” said Alfonso Gonzalez Loeschen, CEO, Nespresso North America. “Our job is to protect the future of coffee while delivering a differentiated and superior coffee experience, which is what we know our customers are excited by. Nespresso Bloom is just that, as a first-of-its-kind offering for us.”

The initial release of Nespresso Bloom includes two sweet, versatile products.

  • Coffee Blossom Honey: A raw honey with notes of caramel and vanilla that’s great for sweetening coffee or drizzling on yogurt, whipped ricotta, and more.

  • Coffee Blossom Honey Syrup: A blend of Coffee Blossom Honey and Nespresso coffee that works well in an espresso martini or even drizzled on waffles.

How to Get Nespresso Bloom Products

These new honey products will first be available at Nespresso Boutiques in New York City and San Francisco, beginning August 7. Starting August 21, both the Blossom Honey and Coffee Blossom Honey Syrup will also be available on Nespresso.com, while supplies from the first harvest last.

We’re impressed with the sustainability aspect of these new products and think the honey would make a tasty addition to our Honey Comb Coffee Cake or Coffee-Rubbed Pork Tenderloin with Espresso-Honey Glace.
