Netflix's new Spellman family is almost complete as The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has cast its Aunt Zelda.

The darker take on the Archie Comics story has already shared a first look at Salem the cat and confirmed that The Office star Lucy Davis will be playing Sabrina's Aunt Hilda, and now The Wrap has reported who'll be filling the other aunt's shoes.

Described as the tough and stern one, in the Netflix reboot Zelda's devotion to the Dark Lord is all-consuming and she believes there is no greater honour than serving as a member of the Church of the Night.

Otto is best known for her role as Éowyn in the final two films in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings series. She's also played a recurring role on Homeland and recently featured in horror film Annabelle: Creation too.

Otto's casting more or less rounds out the Spellman family, with the only major player left to go now being Sabrina's "cousin" Ambrose, who's described as witty, puckish, pansexual and a necromancer who loves being a witch and is also "one of Sabrina's partners in crime".

Sabrina herself will be played by Mad Men and Feud: Bette & Joan star Kiernan Shipka. Kiernan's version of Sabrina will be much darker than the comedic version once played by Melissa Joan Hart, since showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is adapting the pure horror comic The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

In this version, Sabrina is a half-witch, half-mortal who's struggling to control the dark magic within while she balances a full schedule as a student at Greendale's Baxter High.

ABC's Sabrina ran for seven series from 1996 to 2003 and spawned three feature films.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is expected to premiere on Netflix worldwide later in 2018.
