Netflix has renewed GLOW for a fourth season. But sadly, it's not all good news, as the streaming service has confirmed the series will end after season four.

The show's third season saw the ladies of GLOW relocate to Las Vegas, with the season finale setting up a return to Los Angeles.

Surprisingly GLOW was nearly cancelled by Netflix after its first season.

An article published in the Wall Street Journal last November stated that Netflix was very close to cancelling the show after disappointing ratings.

"There were serious conversations from the tech side pressuring the Hollywood side not to renew it for a second season," a source told the publication.

This might be why stars still felt the need to keep their fingers crossed that they'd get a fourth season, despite the show's critical success.

Speaking to Digital Spy after the show's third season, star Kate Nash said: "God, I hope [season 4 happens].

"I hope so, I think [there is] definitely more story to tell. I think it's our best season yet and it would be so amazing to continue to grow these characters and tell their stories.

"They're all so fascinating and there's just so much to tell. I think this season it opened up all these kind of details."

GLOW is available to stream now on Netflix.
