Heads up, Netflix viewers – a sophisticated scam designed to obtain users' bank details is reportedly hitting inboxes, so enough of that Netflix and chillin'.

According to The Guardian, a "convincing" email is being circulated to a number of Netflix account holders that asks the user to re-enter their details on an insecure site.

The email, which is sent by "supportnetflix@checkinformation.com", warns users that their Netflix account is on hold due to a problem with their latest payment.

(AKA, anyone's worst nightmare.)

The email contains a link, which when followed takes users to a lookalike Netflix page and invites them to 'update' their card details.

The easiest way to tell if any correspondence is legitimate is to head to the streaming service's website directly in your browser and continue to your account page as normal.

Never click the link, guys!
