Yahoo News Netflix and The Killing creator will bring us new crime thriller
Netflix is extending its interest in 'Scandinavian noir' by making a new police thriller based on Søren Sveistrup's novel The Chestnut Man.
Variety reports that the series will run for six episodes at 50 minutes in length, and "track two Copenhagen detectives as they investigate an increasingly high-profile murder case".
Sveistrup is notable for writing The Killing, which was also adapted into a major TV show for both Danish and American audiences.

The Danish author said in a statement: "Netflix has shown a strong, genuine interest in my book and I'm excited about the deal and confident that Netflix will be the perfect place for [it]."
"After the success of The Rain, we are excited to announce our next Danish Original which will be building on the great tradition of Nordic Noir," added director of Netflix International Originals in Northern Europe, Tesha Crawford.
"We were instantly compelled by the strong story and Søren's voice. We are happy to continue the collaboration with SAM Productions and are looking forward to bringing The Chestnut Man to our global audience."
Cameras will be (defrosted and) rolling sometime next year, while the series will be aired in the Danish language and exclusively on Netflix worldwide – stay tuned for a premiere date.
