Netflix pulls Santa Clarita Diet ads after complaints
If you've never seen Netflix's Santa Clarita Diet then you need to know that a) it has nothing to do with Christmas and b) it stars Drew Barrymore as a zombie.
There's a lot of icky scenes of eating things you probably shouldn't eat, but it's all done in a darkly comic way.
That hasn't stopped people complaining about an advertising campaign in Germany though.
The advert in question sees a finger chopped up and served in the style of currywurst, which is a typical German delicacy - and concerns about children being disturbed by the advert led to the complaints.
Over 50 complaints were sent to the German advertising regulator Deutscher Werberat (via Business Insider), and they advised Netflix to remove the adverts.
We emphasise 'advised', as the regulator cannot force Netflix to remove the adverts - the streaming service willingly took them down.
While we totally understand why the adverts were complained about, we're a little disappointed we didn't get to try a currywurst finger in the vendors that Netflix had set up around Potsdamer Platz, which is where the Berlin Film Festival is being held.

Meanwhile, the make-up specialist on Santa Clarita Diet recently explained how they created all the juicy-looking flesh that vegetarian actress Drew Barrymore eats while on the show, since they couldn't just use mince meat or tuna.
The more you know.
