However, multiple US outlets have confirmed that the series has now been axed by Netflix, which comes after star Alyssa Milano tweeted earlier this month that it would "not be coming back".
Insatiable followed Patty (Debby Ryan), who was previously bullied and ignored by those around her because of her weight.
When she becomes thin, she seeks revenge on those who have wronged her while also becoming a beauty queen.
Despite the strong criticism that the series drew, its stars had defended it, with Ryan insisting it actually has a positive message.
"I think the message is you don't have to polish things up all the time and look a certain way," she argued after the first season while speaking to Vanity Fair. "We all have something that we want or try to be.
"As long as we are sincere and transparent, we can fuel our desires to success and lead to redemption and to make things right no matter how we look. That's one thing that I took away."
Milano, meanwhile, said: "We are addressing (through comedy) the damage that occurs from fat shaming, I hope that clears it up."
Insatiable is streaming on Netflix.
