Netflix's show Grace and Frankie will come to an end with season 7, making it the longest-running original series of the digital platform.
The show, which stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin as long-time rivals who come together after their husbands have fallen in love with each other, will mark its run with 16 final episodes.
The news come before the premiere of season 6, which is set for a release in January, 2020.
Also in the cast are Sam Waterston and Martin Sheen as the actresses' ex-husbands, alongside June Diane Raphael, Baron Vaughn, Brooklyn Decker and Ethan Embry as their respective children.
Discussing the finale of the series, Fonda and Tomlin said (via Deadline): "We are both delighted and heartbroken that Grace and Frankie will be back for its seventh, though final, season.
"We're so grateful that our show has been able to deal with issues that have really connected to our grand generation. And their kids, and amazingly, their kids as well."
They continued: "We'll miss these two old gals, Grace and Frankie, as much as many of their fans will, but we'll still be around. We've outlasted so many things – just hope we don't outlast the planet."
"It's thrilling and somehow fitting that our show about the challenges, as well as the beauty and dignity of aging, will be the oldest show on Netflix," added showrunners Marta Kauffman and Howard J Morris.
Grace and Frankie season 6 will be released in January, 2020 on Netflix.
