The first trailer for Netflix's Pokémon series Pokémon Concierge has been released, and confirmed its release date, too.

The stop-motion series follows Haru, a young girl who suddenly finds herself with every Pokémon fan's dream job; the concierge at the Pokémon Resort. In other words, it's up to her to "ensure [the Pokémon] enjoy the resort".

The series has two casts; one for the Japanese edition and one with an English-speaking cast. Haru is played by Rena Nōnen in the Japanese veesion and by The Boys star Karen Fukuhara in the latter.

The trailer has also officially confirmed the series' Netflix release date as December 28.

The trailer sees Haru get into all manner of stop-motion mischief with various fan favourite Pokémon, including a Psyduck hiding in some bushes and causing objects to levitate, a Magikarp out of water and a Dragonite taking Haru for a flight over a bay.

"The Pokémon don't exactly tell you what makes them happy," Haru says. "I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing."

"Well, most humans don't say it to your face either," points out one of Haru's coworkers. "They say things like: 'Take a guess!'"

Alongside classics like Pikachu and Psyduck, the trailer features appearances by Bulbasaur, Dedenne, Mudkip, Panpour, Pansage, Pansear, Pikachu and the ever-sleepy Snorlax.
