Nevada Governor Surveys Caldor Fire as Growing Blaze Nears State Line

Nevada Gov Steve Sisolak boarded a helicopter on August 31 to survey the Caldor Fire, after he had declared a state of emergency as the California blaze neared the state line.

Video shows the view Sisolak and Adjutant Gen Ondra Berry saw aboard a Nevada National Guard Black Hawk helicopter as they flew in hazy orange skies over the Lake Tahoe Basin.

The Caldor Fire grew to over 200,000 acres with 20 percent containment by September 1, official reports said, and was threatening tens of thousands of homes as it neared South Lake Tahoe.
