Nevada Trooper Narrowly Avoids Death in Highway Collision

A Nevada Highway Patrol officer narrowly avoided death on Saturday, February 16, when a car hit his cruiser and spun out into the highway, as seen in this video.

The trooper had pulled in to the side of the road for a traffic stop and was just returning to his cruiser when it was rear-ended by an approaching vehicle.

Authorities said the driver of the car that hit the cruiser was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The trooper was struck by debris but was expected to return to full duty shortly, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

“Please remember to Slow Down and Move Over, it not only gives us room to work it’s also the law and also always drive sober,” the Highway Patrol wrote on Facebook. Credit: Nevada Highway Patrol via Storyful
