The pair reportedly enjoyed a string of secret dates, but Johnson, who teamed up with Murs on her latest single, said she “definitely would have known” if they an item.

Her comments come hours after Sykes shut down the “s****” that has been written about her in a defiant Instagram post in which she referred to herself as “single”.

The TV presenter posted a picture of herself alongside the caption: “To all those writing s**** about me and my life. This is what a single, happy, healthy, 47yrs old independent mother of two teenage sons looks like.

“DEAL WITH IT!”’

The pair are said to have bonded over a love of fitness after being introduced by a mutual friend before enjoying a string of under-the-radar dates over the past year.

A source told The Sun: “They were initially introduced through a mutual friend. They started texting for ages and some of the messages ended up getting quite saucy.

“They have both been determined for nobody to find out. It’s been a bit off and on and there’s a real physical attraction between them.”

Sykes has two children, Roman, 15, and Valentino, 12 from her marriage to actor Daniel Caltagirone, which ended in 2008.

She married 29-year-old Jack Cockings in 2013 but filed for divorce less than a year later, describing it as a “difficult” time.

Murs previously dated Francesca Thomas for three years before calling time on the relationship in 2015.
