Released to coincide with National Sleep Awareness Week, the new Dyson Humidifier has been designed to hydrate the air in your home, which can lead to healthier skin and a better night's sleep.

Using an intelligent climate control system, the gadget measures room temperature and air moisture to find the perfect level. It then breaks down water from its tank into microscopic particles, which are projected into the air to hydrate the room evenly.

A single tank of water will last for up to 18 hours, while Dyson's ultraviolet cleansing tech will take care of any lurking bacteria.

The humidifer also doubles up as a fan to keep you cool in warmer weather.

Not only can the new gadget reduce the appearance of fine wrinkles, Dyson also claims that it can help with skin conditions such as Eczema, which are exacerbated by dry air. According to the maker,  the gadget can improve sleep by providing a comfortable, hydrating sleeping environment.

The Skin Health Alliance commented: “The skin provides a vital barrier function for the body.  Retaining its moisture is essential for maintaining its health. This is the first time the Skin Health Alliance has partnered with a globally recognised brand on a revolutionary new device offering people enhanced skin benefits by humidifying the environment around them."

Dyson also says that the humidifier can potentially combat colds by keeping the throat and nasal passages hydrated.

While humidifiers (and dehumidifiers) are not new, Dyson claims that this is the first humidifier to include UV cleansing technology. What's more, while most existing products feature boxy, uninpisring designs, Dyson's humidifier is rather more chic and sports a similar look to the brand's bladeless fans.

Company founder James Dyson explains: “Humidifiers are a way to create a more hygienic environment at home. Using patented UV cleanse technology our humidifier kills 99.9% of bacteria in the machine before projecting hydrated mist evenly throughout the room.”
