New Lego Figures Feature Stay-At-Home Dad - And Working Mum

Lego has made a very modern family as part of its new set of ‘Lego City’ figures - featuring a stay-at-home Dad.

The Dad - sporting a rather swish hipster beard - is pushing a pram and carrying a bottle of milk.

A Mum in the same range is dressed in smarter work clothes.

Lego Systems president Soren Torp Laursen told Fortune: ‘We need to stay in tune with the world around us.

'We aren’t responding to demand from anyone.

‘We are trying to portray the world around us and listen to our consumer base.’

The range has been lauded by disability advocates for featuring a child in a wheelchair with an assistance dog.

Journalist Rebecca Atkinson, who campaigns for toys to depict disability realistically said, ‘We are beyond happy right now. Lego have just rocked our brick-built world and made 150 million disabled kids, their mums, dads, pet dogs and hamsters very, very happy.
