Netflix UK is gearing up to deliver another month of wall-to-wall bangers this April, starting with hotly anticipated comedy drama series Beef. Ali Wong and Steven Yeun star as two strangers involved in a road rage incident who simply refuse to let it go, their ever-escalating feud threatening to unravel their entire lives.

Continuing on the TV front, Community’s Gillian Jacobs leads the line-up for timely war series Transatlantic, which is based on the true story of an American heiress who risked her life to help refugees flee France for the US during WWII.

Elsewhere, Political thriller The Diplomat sees another strong woman in a dangerous situation as Keri Russell plays Kate Wyler, a - you guessed it! - diplomat whose marriage and career are thrown into turmoil when she unexpectedly becomes the US Ambassador to the UK.

DC Comics adaptation Sweet Tooth’s hotly anticipated second series also finally lands this month. This follow up promises more poignant fantasy adventuring with human-deer hybrid Gus (Christian Convery) as he finds himself imprisoned by villainous General Abbot (Neil Sandilands) and forced to dig deeper into his own origins as he looks for a way out.

Last but not least for your televisual viewing pleasure there’s nostalgic treat Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always. Marking 30 years of the fan favourite Mighty Morphin era, the original cast are back in action as they travel through time to thwart old foe Rita Repulsa’s (Barbara Goodson) efforts to change history. “Once a Ranger, always a Ranger!”

For your film fix, April brings us creature feature Chupa which, despite its unfortunately translated title, looks to be a heartwarming found family fantasy. The film, produced by legendary Harry Potter filmmaker Chris Columbus, sees shy teen Alex (Evan Whitten) discover a baby chupacabra — the mythic beast of Mexican legend — underneath his grandfather’s shed, only to end up having to protect it from Christian Slater’s nefarious scientist Richard Quinn.

Later in the month, historical epic The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die, the feature length continuation of the massively popular Bernard Cornwell adapted series, arrives on our screens. As does A Tourist’s Guide to Love, a Vietnam set rom-com starring 90s fave Rachael Leigh Cook of She’s All That fame.
